Office appeal doubles sales
and productivity
Jacqui Batholemeuz was extremely excited when she purchased her new Harcourts office in upmarket Clayfield. The problem was it was the office was ‘an uninspiring dump.’ The old converted house was a rabbit warren of rooms which were ‘messy, disorganised and very un-inviting’. This was not the impression Jacqui wanted to give aspirational home buyers, who have an eye for quality.
As a successful agent, she wanted to focus on what she is fabulous at – selling property. In her words: ‘I don’t have the time or expertise to remodel an office. I hate shopping and I needed someone to take control and just make things happen.”
Looking for recommendations for a reputable company to handle the project and not charge ‘like a wounded bull’ Jacqui spoke to Harcourts head office and network. Brad Salsbury was immediately recommended by head office and agents who had recently renovated tired and boring properties. One was Sarah Bailey of Harcourts Marketplace, who won ‘Office of the Year’ at the 2018 Sales Convention. The excellent street appeal and glamorous reception of the office at Oxley was well known amongst Harcourts agents.
Running to a very tight timeframe, Jacqui called Brad in to look at the new space, which he described as an ‘unappealing mess.’ Jacqui remembers the initial meeting, ‘Brad was so easy to understand, and he listened to what was important to me.’
Brad drew together a team with an interior designer, sign installer, electrician, builder, painter, and graphic artist. A plan was swiftly put together, knocking down awkward walls and re-zoning spaces for maximum effectiveness. Jacqui said ‘All options presented, the furniture and design, were exactly as we discussed. Any minor adjustments or concerns I had along the way were sorted out quickly, which gave me a lot of confidence.’
Working to a production schedule and clearly detailed budget, Jacqui was delighted that the costs were almost half what she was expecting. ‘I’d heard of offices paying extraordinary amounts of money, and I just can’t justify that. Brad was very reasonable and yet the standard of workmanship was excellent.’
This common-sense approach is why clients love working with Salsbury Production. The straight-up honest way information is conveyed, and recommendations made, is central to the business’s ethos. ‘I don’t suggest people spend money on areas that don’t need it – focus on the client experience and invest money wisely,’ says Brad who has been working on office fit-outs for over ten years.

‘What had the potential to be a stressful time turned out to be anything but. It was a pleasure to deal with Salsbury Production and their tradies,’ enthuses Jacqui. She was thrilled with the result and has even begun plans to expand into an adjoining property. ‘Of course, I will get Brad back!’ she says laughing, ‘the after service has been fantastic and I know he will do an amazing job.’

‘I can’t get over how the renovation has boosted the business. Our sales have nearly doubled since the opening!’ said Jacqui. She added that staff productivity is noticeably better, and everyone is proud to bring clients in for meetings. Salsbury has even organised new uniforms for the team, further improving the professional image of Harcourts Clayfield.
